Co-Lead Toddler Teacher Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
ARE
YOU A HIGHLY SUCESSFUL TODDLER TEACHER?
Join us in teaching our future leaders! We are looking for skilled, charismatic teachers and early childhood leaders with excellent references from past supervisors. Join us to develop and nurture young children by building relationships with families through: showing children love and gentle interactions; applying careful supervision; managing a smooth flowing daily routine; keeping children safe; planning and implementing an inspiring and educational preschool program; creating a beautiful classroom using art, natural items and Reggio-Emilia inspired approaches; communicating with parents directly; using a smartphone or tablet app for documenting children's daily information. As of June 17, we have 1 job opportunity:
TODDLER TEACHER
for 1 yr olds ($17-$21 per hour, Full-time, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, year-round). Associates or Bachelors Degree required. This position is one of three teachers on our toddler team. All 3 teachers are dedicated to the same class of 12 one year-olds. Promotion to Mentor teacher is a future prospect. Pay rate based on education and experience. Job starts asap.

Education and Experience:
Assistant Teachers must have completed the NC Child Care Credential. Completion of an Associates or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood/B-K OR a closely related field is preferred for Lead Teachers. Minimum of 1 year of recent experience working in a school or licensed child care center is required. High School Diploma is required for all positions.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES A COMPLETED COLLEGE DEGREE AND AT LEAST 3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.
Key Duties:
  • Be ACTIVE with young children . Stimulates emotional, intellectual, and social growth of students by developing and directing educational activities tailored to children ages Birth-5; supervising children carefully.
  • Provides safe environment by maintaining an orderly, clean, and appealing classroom; eliminating or removing known safety hazards; complying with child care rules.
  • Encourages students' participation by providing open-ended, interactive activities.
  • Supports students to learn concepts and collects work samples for portfolios.
  • Informs parents of curriculum by preparing and submitting lesson plans; posting schedules and holding parent-teacher conferences.
  • Keeps parents informed by posting parent information in the classroom; communicating frequently; sharing child's progress and needs using modern technologies.
  • Encourages development of student self-control by utilizing Conscious Discipline classroom management and modeling techniques.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances center reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Job Type:
Full-time, year-round.
Compensation:
$17.00 to $21.00 /hour; varies according to position, completed education level and experience; higher pay if candidate meets Mentor Teacher Requirements. $365.00 signing bonus available for exceptionally trained candidate or immediate start.
Examples:
Extensive Reggio or Te Whariki training, Conscious Discipline certification, Early Childhood Environment Scale training to reliability, 5 plus years of highly successful lead teaching.
