All Ages About Us Kiddie Academy of Harrisburg is a locally owned, NAEYC accredited educational child development center committed to providing high-quality, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children from infancy through Pre-Kindergarten. We believe that learning should be engaging, meaningful, and joyful—and that educators thrive in a collaborative, supportive environment. As we continue to grow, we are seeking experienced and passionate Lead Teachers to join our professional early childhood education team. Position Summary The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate classroom program that aligns with NAEYC standards, state licensing regulations, and Kiddie Academy's educational philosophy. This role provides instructional leadership within the classroom while fostering strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities Lesson Plans:
Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with early learning standards and developmentally appropriate practice with help from our Curriculum Coordinator. Developmentally appropriate activities including Evidence of Learning (EOL) boards.
Classroom Management:
Daily Schedules Positive Behavior Guidance Child Assessments Classroom Documentation to be submitted to the
Director Classroom Environment:
Clean Safe Engaging Leadership:
Supervise Co-Teacher Supervise Support Staff Actively participate in professional development, staff meetings, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Communication:
Daily updates
Conferences Licsensing:
Ensure licensing and ratio compliance in the classroom Qualifications Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a licensed early childhood education setting CDA, Associate's Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred) Strong understanding of child development, classroom management, and play-based learning Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills Professional, warm, and family-centered approach Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and meet the physical demands of working with young children DCDEE Qualification Letter (required or ability to obtain) TB Test/Screening Staff Health Assessment EDU 119 coursework completed or in progress (preferred) Why Join Kiddie Academy of Harrisburg?
