Job Description

The Goddard School in Huntersville has an immediate opening for a Toddler Teacher. This position involves working with children ages 12-24 months. Teacher applicants should have BA/AA in Early Childhood Education or a related field and at least two years experience working in a preschool or licensed childcare setting, preferably with toddlers. Other degrees considered with at least 18 credit hours in Early Childhood education including North Carolina Credentials (EDU 119). A recent criminal background check, TB skin test and physical will be required prior to beginning the job. SIDS and First Aid/CPR are also required but reimbursed by employer. Teacher's daily duties include: Developing lesson plans. Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff. Meeting the individual's needs of the children Participation in staff and training meetings (monthly or as needed). Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom. Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning. Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level. Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills. Building teamwork. Using assessment tools. Committing to continuing education.
