Childcare Closing Shift Responsibilities The closing shift staff member plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, smooth end to the day while preparing the facility for the following day.

Responsibilities include:

Supervision of Children:

Provide attentive, safe, and nurturing supervision of all children remaining in care until they are picked up. Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios and ensure a calm, structured environment during late-day transitions.

Parent Communication:

Greet parents/guardians at pick-up, provide brief updates on the child's day, and ensure all authorized pick-up procedures are followed.

Classroom Cleaning & Organization:

Thoroughly clean and sanitize toys, tables, and high-touch surfaces. Organize materials, reset learning areas, and ensure the classroom is fully prepared for the next day's activities.

Daily Closing Duties:

Assist in closing the daycare facility by completing assigned tasks such as: Taking out trash Sanitizing bathrooms and common areas Turning off lights and equipment Securing doors and windows

Health & Safety Compliance:

Follow all health, sanitation, and licensing regulations during cleaning and closing procedures.

Team Collaboration:

Communicate with other staff members to ensure all closing responsibilities are completed efficiently and the facility is fully secured.

Pay:

$13.00 - $14.00 per hour
