Job Description
Job Summary Join our summer camp councilor team as a Summer Camp Counselor, where you will supervise the children through engaging activities, fostering a safe and fun environment Thisrole is perfect for individuals who love working with children in an outdoor setting and want to make a positive impact during the summer months. As a counselor, you will lead group activities, ensure safety protocols are followed, and support campers in their daily activities. Camp season is June 15th - August 30th | Weekday hours are Tuesday- Friday from 830am-2pm daily. Responsibilities Lead and facilitate a variety of camp activities including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor adventures to promote teamwork and creativity. Maintain a safe environment by enforcing camp rules, supervising children closely, and applying first aid when necessary. Manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and age-appropriate behavior management techniques. Support children's individual needs by providing attentive childcare, including assistance with early childhood education or special education requirements. Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan daily schedules, organize group games, and ensure smooth transitions between activities. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress or concerns. Uphold camp policies related to child safety, health protocols, and emergency procedures in accordance with licensing standards. Skills Strong people skills to guide children's behavior positively and effectively. The ability to be certified in first aid and CPR to respond confidently to emergencies. Experience working with children in settings such as summer camps. Knowledge of childhood development principles to support age-appropriate activities. Ability to engage children through sports coaching, theater & arts, or other creative outlets. Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members.
