Early Childhood English Teacher Now hiring for 2026-2027 school year! Help Young Learners Thrive in a Global School Community Tessa International School is seeking a passionate, reflective, and dedicated Early Childhood English Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. About the Role The Early Childhood English Teacher plays a vital role in supporting our bilingual program and fostering young children's academic, social, emotional, and language development. Through rich, play-based experiences, this position helps children develop confidence, communication skills, and a strong foundation in English language and literacy. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about early childhood education, language development, and inquiry-based learning, and who enjoys working collaboratively within a bilingual school environment. What You'll Do Uphold the philosophy and high standards of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). Support children's English language development through engaging, play-based learning experiences. Design meaningful learning opportunities that promote early literacy through inquiry, storytelling, play, and authentic interactions. Intentionally develop students' vocabulary, oral language, phonological awareness, and emergent literacy skills. Model rich, expressive, and authentic English through conversations, songs, stories, and daily classroom interactions. Foster children's social-emotional growth while nurturing curiosity, independence, and a love of learning. Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families. Collaborate closely with immersion-track teachers to provide aligned and cohesive learning experiences across languages. Observe, document, and assess children's language development to inform instruction and planning. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required. Support additional duties and projects as assigned by school leadership. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications Native-level proficiency in spoken and written English. Minimum of 3 years of Early Childhood teaching experience, preferably with children ages 2-6. State teaching certification or equivalent national teaching credential. Strong understanding of early literacy development, including oral language progression, phonological awareness, and emergent reading and writing within play-based environments. Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Authorization to work in the United States. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Collaborative, flexible, and team-oriented mindset. Demonstrated empathy, professionalism, and a positive sense of humor. Commitment to diversity and inclusion. Preferred Qualifications Experience with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). Experience in a bilingual, dual-language, or international school environment.
