Job Description

Group Teacher (Infant/Toddler)
Location:
Jersey City, NJ (in person — local candidates strongly preferred)
Type:
Full-time/Part-time Join us as a founding team member! Evviva Montessori is the first Montessori center in Jersey City's Westside neighborhood, and we're looking for a passionate infant/toddler Montessori Group Teacher to help us open our doors.
Our mission:
We believe authentic Montessori education should be accessible to everyone — and we're proud to bring it to the families of the Westside for the very first time. Evviva is built on the belief that every child deserves a warm, respectful start, and every family deserves a place that feels like home. Why Evviva? Be a founding team member. Help shape our classrooms, our culture, and our community from day one. Mission-driven and accessible. Join us in making quality Montessori care available to families in our neighborhood. Owned by mothers. Work alongside founders who understand what families truly need. A true community. We're building a warm, multicultural environment where every child, family, and educator feels valued, supported, and a true sense of belonging. Grow with us. As an early-stage program, Evviva offers real opportunities to develop your skills, take on new responsibilities, and shape our culture. We care for our educators the way we care for our children — with respect, encouragement, and a genuine commitment to your wellbeing.
The Role:
As a Group Teacher you'll be part of daily care and learning for a group of infants or toddlers within a prepared Montessori environment — guiding activities, supporting routines (feeding, napping, toileting), observing each child, and keeping families connected through Brightwheel childcare app. What you'll do: Prepare and maintain a developmentally appropriate Montessori environment for infants and toddlers, supporting language development, gross and fine motor skills, sensory exploration, and practical life. Observe and document each child's developmental progress regularly, adjusting activities to support individual growth and emerging skills. Provide respectful, responsive care during feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing, and rest routines, fostering each child's dignity, independence, and self-care skills. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, ensuring materials, furnishings, and learning spaces are cared for in accordance with health and safety standards. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices in classroom preparation, observation, and inclusive, child-centered care. Qualifications (meets
