Observe and monitor children's play activities. Assist in preparing food for children and serve meals and refreshments to children and regulate rest periods. Read to children, and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs. Develop with flexibility activities that are age-appropriate for infants. Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child. Ensure that children's physiological needs are met individually. Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others, and positive self-concepts. Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas. Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy. Maintain a safe and healthy environment. Must be reliable, punctual, responsible, and ethical. Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials. Attend in-service and staff meetings. Meet all applicable licensing regulations. Sanitize toys and play equipment. Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to the group teacher.
