Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday. Must be available for shifts that may end as late as 5:30 PM. Tiny Steps Learning Center is hiring a caring, reliable, and experienced Lead Infant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. We are looking for someone who truly enjoys working with infants, understands infant development, and can create a safe, nurturing, clean, and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate is patient, organized, dependable, and confident leading an infant classroom while working with assistant teachers, families, and center leadership.
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, nurturing, and responsive care for infants throughout the day. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate infant activities and lesson plans. Support each child's physical, emotional, social, sensory, and cognitive development. Observe, document, and communicate children's developmental progress. Follow classroom routines, curriculum expectations, center policies, licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures. Communicate professionally with parents regarding daily care, milestones, and classroom updates. Lead and support Assistant Teachers by modeling best practices, giving direction, and helping maintain classroom structure.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with infants in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood setting. Strong knowledge of infant care, classroom routines, and developmentally appropriate practices. Reliable full-time availability, Monday through Friday. Strong communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work professionally with children, families, and staff. Must be able to meet the physical demands of infant care, including lifting up to 45 pounds as needed. Must be willing to complete required background checks and pre-employment clearances.
Preferred Qualifications:
CDA certification or Associate Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field. CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogen certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
