Job Description

Overview Join our early childhood education team as an Afternoon Preschool Assistant. Hours for this position are 3-6 Monday through Friday. Additional hours are available if interested In this role, you will support classroom activities, assist with child supervision, and ensure a safe and positive space for children to explore and grow during the afternoon hours. Your energy and compassion will contribute to fostering a love of learning while promoting social, emotional, and developmental skills in school-aged children. Duties Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety and positive behavior management Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining a clean, inviting environment Support behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation and social skills among children Help facilitate transitions between activities smoothly, ensuring a structured yet flexible schedule Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for all children Qualifications Prior experience working with children in preschool, daycare, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in childcare and classroom management Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs or behavioral challenges Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, parents, and caregivers Compassionate caregiving attitude with patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for early childhood education Experience in nannying or babysitting young children can be valuable in this role
