Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Part-Time Daycare Teacher to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for:
Current college students pursuing degrees in Education, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or related fields. Individuals with 3+ years of childcare experience in a daycare, preschool, church nursery, summer camp, after-school program, or similar setting. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, values teamwork, and is committed to creating a positive learning environment. Duties Plan and lead age-appropriate educational and recreational activities Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed diligently Provide attentive supervision during playtime, nap time, meals, and transitions to ensure children's well-being at all times Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized care in collaboration with specialists when necessary Communicate professionally with parents or guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and daily experiences Assist with classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies Administer basic first aid when needed and respond promptly to any emergencies or health concerns Follow all center policies, health and safety regulations, and licensing requirements. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Qualifications At least 3 years of childcare experience OR current enrollment in a college or university program related to education, child development, healthcare, or human services Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Certification in first aid and CPR; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus Strong classroom management skills coupled with patience and compassion for young learners Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating independence in caregiving tasks Excellent communication skills to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within a dynamic childcare environment Employment Requirements All candidates must successfully complete: Criminal background check Child abuse clearance/background screening (as required by New Jersey childcare regulations) Reference checks Drug testing may be conducted when required by licensing regulations, organizational policy, or reasonable suspicion.
