Our hours of operation are 7:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.
DESCRIPTION
Teachers are attentive to the needs of each child and provide excellent care, supervision and hands-on interaction with children following approved age-appropriate curriculum as determined by the lead teacher. He/she works as a smooth team with other teachers in the classroom by anticipating needs and creating smooth transitions. He/she is proactive in caring for and engaging with children, logging daily activities, cleaning, changing diapers, serving meals, preparing materials, lesson planning and FOCUS documentation, giving teacher breaks, assisting in kitchen, etc. He/She is flexible and must be adaptable in order to fill various needs of the center.
QUALIFICATIONS
Genuine faith-filled believer who models Christ and lives out his/her Christian faith. Relates joyfully and compassionately to children, families and staff members and takes every opportunity to pray with and for them. Must have High School diploma or GED Must have 45 Hour Course or equivelant Must have Child Development Certificate or Child Development Associate Credential or higher or willing to obtain Current First Aid & CPR Certificate or willing to obtain Required FOCUS certifications/training for 5 star accreditation or willing to obtain Able to lift 35 lbs. Able to adequately supervise children and take action during an emergency. Speaks and writes fluent English. Available for the shift of 10:00-4:00pm Monday through Friday with additional varied hours as needed.

SUPERVISION & CARETAKING
Assumes responsibility for the supervision, health and safety of the children in his/her care at all times. Treats each child with dignity and respect, ensuring the full participation of each child. Meets every child's physical, spiritual, mental, emotional and social needs by understanding each child's unique needs and providing extra support as needed. Utilizes positive classroom management techniques in guiding the children towards self-discipline in a loving atmosphere. Adheres strictly to the center guidance policy. Follows the class schedule, developing efficient routines and smooth transitions. Knows and follows New Mexico state licensing guidelines at all times, as well as center policies and procedures. Maintains great communication with the administration, other staff, parents and children. Eats meals with the children family style. Reports any suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the authorities and director immediately. Reports any incident to the director and lead teacher immediately. Utilizes first AID/CPR training to care for ill or injured children. (Ensures the 1st AID kits are well stocked and available at all times.) Maintains great communication with the lead teacher to ensure quality care, consistency and smooth transitions. Eliminates distractions to ensure focused supervision of the children at all times. Updates parent App in timely and accurate manner. Performs daily checks to ensure the classroom is free of any hazards and in compliance with state regulations.
ENGAGEMENT & EDUCATION
Demonstrates a love and passion for God and models that behavior for the children. Maintains an engaging arrangement, appearance, décor and teaching environment of the classroom with 6 clearly labeled and well-functioning centers according to the lead teacher's direction. Receives regular feedback from administration and the lead teacher and implements immediately. Works together with other teachers towards the established goals for each classroom and for the center as a whole. Follows weekly lesson plans with guidance from the lead teacher in accordance with the center's curriculum, policies and guidelines. Understands the teacher's vision, goals and pathway towards achieving those goals and works together to achieve them. Modifies the program to suit the children's individual needs and interests considering social and emotional needs, cultural differences, language, developmental delays and advances, disabilities, special talents and interests, individual learning styles and paces. Assists the lead teacher in planning for and preparing materials for activities in advance. Requests any items needed at least a week in advance.
HOUSEKEEPING
Assumes an equal share of joint housekeeping, maintaining a clean and tidy classroom, bathroom, playground, and all other areas of the facility. Maintains an organized teacher station, with clear labeling. Maintains teacher and family boards current. Maintains diaper changes/potty training and supplies.
FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
Maintains positive and harmonious parent/center relationships, and informs the center director of any conflicts that may arise. Maintains open lines of communication with parents by responding promptly to messages, daily logging all activities and posting pictures and videos. Keeps the lead teacher informed of any relevant conversations with family members. Builds relationships with families ensuring the full participation of each child through a strong teamwork with families.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Attends and actively participates in all monthly staff meetings. Helps prepare and attend special events like field trips, graduations, holiday programs, parent conferences, etc. Seeks to constantly learn and improve as an educator by attending trainings and related courses.
