POSITION SUMMARY
Awaken Las Vegas staff are committed to being Christ-centered, biblically based, spirit-led, ceaselessly praying, community-serving, diversity embracing, God-glorifying, and an- excellence striving community that is filled with God's love. As such, each staff member is a part of the ministry by teaching the Bible, praying for and with others, and carrying out the vision of Awaken Las Vegas, The Preschool Teacher is the Preschool's most important resource and will be the primary instructor and caregiver to the students during the day. The Preschool Teacher would establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible. Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. This position would model Christian beliefs, thoughts, and actions on and off the job to the students as they teach. The teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the Director and other teachers in the planning, supervision, and implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that agrees with the school philosophy and includes the total development of the child in a loving Christian atmosphere. Maintain licensing mandated child to teacher ratios at all times. Keep classroom, playground, resources, equipment, and physical environment clean and safe. Observe and evaluate students' behavior, performance, social development, and physical health. Prepare materials and classroom for daily activities. Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate. Meet with parents/guardians, teachers, and administrators in order to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems. Meet with parents and guardians to discuss children's progress, and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs. Must be patient, able to respond calmly, and make rational decisions. Additional duties as assigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience Previous work experience in a preschool or childcare facility desired. Must have basic computer skills. Familiarity with educational technology and online instruction is helpful. Education High School Diploma or GED. CDA, AA, or BA in Early Education is preferred but not required. Certification/ Licensure Must be CPR/First Aid/AED certified within 90 days of hire Must acquire a current Sheriff's Card.KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS / ABILITIES
(KSAs) Must have a heart for the mission and drive of Awaken Christian Academy and Awaken Las Vegas. Must have a strong alignment with Awaken Las Vegas. Must be dependable, hardworking, innovative, and capable of working independently. Excellent people skills.Must be team-oriented:
willing to follow, support, and collaborate with team members, plus have the ability to build, develop and lead teams. Ability to learn and work quickly, efficiently, with attention to detail. Must be flexible; able to focus on what needs to happen to reach the goal. Must be able to follow standard procedures in crises situations. Ability to meet deadlines including attendance, grading, and in-person curriculum planning.WORKING CONDITION REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to constantly maneuver around. Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs. Must have specific vision abilities which include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision. Must be able to work around and with moderate noise levels Must be patient, able to respond calmly, and make rational decisions.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
