Job Description

Position Title UPK (Universal Pre-Kindergarten) Teacher Required Application Type Teacher / Admin Salary/Pay Scale Per CSFA Contract Job Description The Clyde-Savannah Central School District has an opening for a UPK Teacher. The UPK Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children. The teacher plans and delivers developmentally appropriate instruction that promotes children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth while preparing them for kindergarten success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons aligned with state early learning standards. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independence. Support children's social-emotional development through positive guidance and classroom management techniques. Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of developmental milestones. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners. Collaborate with special education staff, intervention specialists, and support personnel as needed. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. Participate in school events, professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and parent conferences. Ensure compliance with all district, state, and licensing requirements related to early childhood education. Job Qualifications Valid state teaching certification/licensure in Early Childhood Education. Experience working with preschool or early elementary-aged children preferred. Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and community partners. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move throughout the school day. Ability to lift and carry classroom materials and assist young children when necessary. Ability to supervise children in both indoor and outdoor learning environments.
