Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Daycare Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help nurture and support the growth of young children. In this role, you will assist lead teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Your positive energy and caregiving skills will play a vital part in fostering developmental milestones, encouraging curiosity, and ensuring every child feels valued and supported throughout their early learning journey. Responsibilities Support classroom activities by helping implement age-appropriate lessons focused on childhood development and early education principles. Assist with daily care routines such as feeding, diapering, dressing, and nap times for infants and toddlers. Engage children in play-based learning activities that promote social skills, creativity, and cognitive development. Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety standards, including first aid procedures when necessary. Observe and document individual progress, behavior management strategies, and developmental milestones to inform teaching staff. Collaborate with teachers to manage classroom behavior positively and foster an inclusive atmosphere for children with diverse needs. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's daily activities and developmental progress. Experience Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or similar caregiving roles is highly desirable. Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices related to early childhood education. Experience with classroom management techniques tailored to young children's needs. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred to ensure quick response during emergencies. Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs enhances your ability to support all children effectively. Hands-on experience caring for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers through classroom experience or caregiving roles demonstrates your readiness for this position. $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
