Between Friends - An Early Learning Community is a play-based, relationship-driven early childhood program where children learn through exploration, curiosity, and meaningful connection. We value a collaborative team environment, and we're passionate about nurturing the growth and development of every child through developmentally appropriate practices rooted in respect, empathy, and joyful learning.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and dependable Part-Time Early Childhood Educator/ Substitute Teacher to support our classrooms. This position is ideal for someone with a flexible schedule who enjoys working with young children and wants to be part of a warm, supportive early learning community. The educator will work alongside lead and assistant teachers to create a safe, engaging, and responsive environment for children, ranging in age from infants to preschoolers (depending on the center's needs and your experience).
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum. Provide nurturing and responsive care, helping with routines such as meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, and transitions. Engage children in meaningful play, storytelling, art, music, and outdoor exploration. Support a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment. Collaborate with teaching teams to maintain consistency and a positive classroom climate. Communicate positively with children, families, and staff. Follow all licensing regulations and center policies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred:
Light Experience in Early Childhood Education. Experience working with young children in a licensed early learning or group care setting Reliable, flexible, and committed to fostering a nurturing classroom environment CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Schedule & Availability:
Part-time hours available from 11:00am-2:00pm / On call Sub as well Ideal for candidates seeking consistent part-time work everyday of the week. Opportunity to grow into a full-time role if desired
