Lead Preschool Teacher

Minimum Qualifications

• BA in Early Childhood Education or related field

NY State Teaching Certificate:

Birth-2nd Grade (if eligible, possibility for placement on Study Plan to obtain NY Certification)

• At least 1 year of classroom experience
• Experience working with children with IEPs a plus!

Preferred:

Master's Degree with NYS teaching certification Skills & knowledge

• Experience working in an early childhood setting
• Be warm and loving with a positive attitude and appreciation of children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and program
• Respectful to all persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
• Ability to organize and reflect teaching goals and progress in documentation: lesson plans, assessments and evaluations
• Ability to engage children in developmentally appropriate ways ( also including addressing children at eye level, sitting with children on the floor, engaging children in play and conversation)
• Ability to attend to daily tasks as an educator
• Maintain partnerships with families & staff
