Part-Time Personal Care Aide (Child & Pet - Support Role) For Child with Autism Job Type Part-Time | 3-4 hours a day 20 Hours a Week Before and After School Position Overview We are seeking a kind, energetic, and emotionally aware individual to support a child with special learning needs through play-based activities, guided interaction, and structured engagement in a calm and supportive home environment. This position is not a clinical or professional teaching role. All activities, lessons, and daily structure will be designed and provided. The role centers on presence, patience, consistency, and positive energy. About the Child A bright and curious child with individualized learning and communication needs Thrives with one-on-one attention, play-based learning, movement, and hands-on activities Benefits from someone who is patient, emotionally intuitive, and sensitive to nontraditional learning styles Responds best to calm energy, encouragement, and gentle guidance About the Family Dog Friendly, well-adjusted family dog Included in daily routines and activities Candidate must be comfortable interacting with and supervising a dog as needed Responsibilities Engage the child in guided play, creative activities, and learning tasks Follow pre-planned activities and daily instructions Provide positive reinforcement and emotional support Assist with simple routines during scheduled time Interact with the family dog when applicable Maintain a safe, calm, and encouraging environment Light house hold duties Preferred Candidate Qualities While no professional credentials are required, preference will be given to individuals who: Have a genuine love for neurodivergent or differently-abled children Have personal experience such as: A sibling or close family member with special needs Prior informal caregiving or babysitting for children with developmental differences Are emotionally patient, observant, and adaptable Understand that progress may look different and value connection over compliance Schedule 2 -4+ hours per day to start Consistent schedule (to be discussed) Potential for additional hours and long-term growth Growth Opportunity This position is Ideal for a College Student who Lives in the Lancaster Area Main Job Function - Assist child before and after school To Apply Looking for
