  • Contract Job Summary Outpatient substance use disorder clinic in Newburgh is seeking a child care worker to work 1 day a week, 4 hours a day.
Exact day and times to be discussed. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs. Duties Provide attentive care to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times while parents are in treatment sessions. Implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction. ie. Read stories, facilitate arts and crafts, and organize games. Supervise play, snacks, rest, and age appropriate activities. Support infants and toddlers with feeding, diapering, nap times Maintain a clean, organized environment adhering to health and safety standards Follow infection control and sanitation procedures. Participate in ongoing training related to childcare best practices, first aid, and working with children with disabilities Requirements Criminal history screening and fingerprinting. Clearance through child abuse and maltreatment registries. No history that would disqualify the person from working with children. Prior experience in childcare, daycare settings, babysitting, or nannying is highly desirable. Physically able to perform functions of job. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education techniques. Experience working with trauma, mental/behavioral health concerns, and family issues. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus Ability to care for infants and toddlers with patience, compassion, and enthusiasm Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members Flexibility to adapt to different age groups and individual child requirements Set up and clean activity areas. Maintain toys, supplies, and equipment. Ensure the children's area meets safety standards.
