Job Description

Job Summary In this vital role, you will work alongside another teacher and a teacher aide to foster a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment tailored specifically for up to 8 children under the age of three in a classroom setting. Your enthusiasm and expertise will support young children's growth and development, laying a strong foundation for their future learning. You will implement age-appropriate activities, promote positive behavior, and collaborate with families to ensure each child's well-being and success. Responsibilities Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning for infants or toddlers. Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards. Support children's social-emotional development through positive behavior management and caregiving strategies. Conduct regular assessments of each child's progress and communicate findings with families to foster collaborative support. Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, attendance, and developmental milestones. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and families to support children with disabilities or special needs through individualized care plans.
Required Qualifications:
One year of experience working with children under age three in a group setting, plus demonstrated formal education in a relevant field in any of the following categories (starting pay rate determined by level of education completed): Level I - Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate credential, or BOCES Early Childhood Education certificate, or equivalent. Level II - Completed two-year college degree in Early Childhood Education, or in a related field with at least 18 credits in Early Childhood Education. Level III - Completed four-year college degree in Early Childhood Education, or in a related field with at least 24 credits in Early Childhood Education.
Pay:
$20.98 - $23.03 per hour
