Job Description

Full-Time Preschool Director / Supporting Teacher Jack & Jill Preschool welcomes motivated and compassionate applicants for our Preschool Director position. This unique leadership role combines administrative responsibilities with hands-on classroom involvement. This role would be best filled by a collaborative leader who enjoys working directly with children, families, and staff creating a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. Position Responsibilities Promote the preschool through marketing, community involvement, and positive family engagement. Support enrollment efforts by connecting with prospective families, assisting with registration, and maintaining strong enrollment and waitlists. Ensure compliance with all applicable New York State Office of Children and Family Services daycare regulations, including maintaining required documentation and records. Maintain staff training records and ensure completion of all required training and continuing education. Serve as a supporting teacher in the classroom, assisting with carrying out lessons, small-group activities, transitions, and daily routines. (Lesson planning is completed by Lead Teacher and is not within the responsibilities of the director position.) Provide behavior support and guidance to students ensuring social emotional growth as well as smooth implementation of lessons. Work alongside classroom staff to ensure the program operates smoothly and that children's needs are consistently met throughout the day. Build positive relationships with parents and students while providing guidance and support as needed. Convey professionalism, compassion, and demonstrate calm communication. Sustain a well-rounded preschool program that nurtures children's social-emotional growth, confidence, and independence while fostering a strong foundation for academic success. Qualifications A bachelor's degree, including at least 12 credits in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field One year of full-time teaching experience in a childcare center, family day care, group family day care, or another early childhood program One year of experience supervising staff in a childcare program or related field Additional skills required: Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Strong marketing, social media, and enrollment building skills Positive attitude and professional demeanor Comfortable using technology for communication, marketing, and administrative tasks Knowledge of OCFS Day Care regulations preferred What We're Looking For We look forward to meeting candidates who will bring enthusiasm, professionalism, warmth, and dedication to our preschool community.
