Montessori Inspired Childcare Teacher

If you love children and being outside, you will love a job here! We are currently hiring Infant, Toddler, and Preschool teachers for the expansion of our nature-based, Montessori-inspired schools. This is an entry-level job and previous daycare experience preferred but is not necessary, however this person should at a minimum have experience working with children as a nanny, camp counselor, or informal family experience. We are looking for someone who would like to make Early Childhood Education their career. This teacher may be working on a degree or certificate in Early Childhood Education and/or Montessori education or a related field and should have a strong nature-based education philosophy. The children at our center go outside everyday year-round. All teachers at Shine are hired based on their experience, education, and values. We look for teachers with a strong commitment to early childhood education, teaching children about nature, and personal responsibility. We are a licensed center but we do NOT participate in SUTQ, as we believe it detracts from the program. Teachers are given a fair amount of autonomy in creating the rhythms, routines, and curriculum in their classroom. Low Ratios! The infant and toddler classrooms have 6 children per day, with 2 teachers. Our preschool room has 14 children per day with 2 teachers. Both classroom teachers will operate as Co-teachers instead of a lead and assistant style, though, staff may choose to operate this way. We are a small, homey center with a great reputation and a wonderful group of families and staff members. This is an opportunity unlike any other early childhood education program in town!
