Job Description

FOUNDATIONS LEARNING CENTER LEAD TEACHER
The Lead Teacher is primarily responsible for implementing the Creative Curriculum at Foundations Child Development Curriculum, assessing students' development needs, and nurturing the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of children, and maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment that supports play, exploration, and learning. Teachers assigned to younger classrooms will also be responsible for diapering and feeding children.
Classroom responsibilities:
  • Lead the class: implement the school curriculum, assess the developmental needs of students, and regularly report classroom lesson plans via a system to be detailed in the Policies and Procedures Handbook.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe classroom environment that is also fun and supports play, exploration, and learning, including being responsible for the regular cleaning of linens, toys, furniture and equipment detailed in the Policies and Procedures Handbook.
  • Nurture the physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth and development of each child through loving, personal interactions.
  • Provide physical care needs such as feeding and diapering, potty training, and self-care training.
Professional responsibilities:
  • Establish positive and productive relationships with families through daily interactions in person and through ProCare updates and messaging.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings.
  • Work with leadership and age-level teams on problem solving classroom and Learning Center issues.
  • Support Foundations Child Development success by partnering with staff and leadership to achieve goals concerning enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
  • Execute a level of professionalism with students, families, peers, and management.
  • Complete required trainings annually in compliance with the Annual Performance Review and Evaluation process as detailed in the Policies and Procedures Handbook.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Child Development Associates (CDA) Degree, Associates Degree or greater in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of classroom experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • No criminal record or child-related offenses Physical demands:
  • Regularly required to move from standing to crouching at child's eye level as well as sitting on the floor and back to standing position
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs
  • Must be able to spend time on the floor or in child-sized furniture (adult furniture is not allowed unless a medical accommodation is needed)
  • Required to help clean and maintain classroom and equipment and move furniture (cots, chairs, etc.
) throughout the day
Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
