Job Description

About us MSD is seeking a Childcare Associate to join our well-established Montessori team. Under the direction and supervision of the Directors of Education and Building Operations, the Childcare Associate will be responsible for the general supervision and management of the nap and aftercare room for 3-6 year olds. The candidate will supervise students during and after school hours Monday-Friday, 11:00AM to 5:30PM. The Childcare Associate will arrive at the school to help with lunch and supervise the nap room. Once school dismisses at 3:30, the Childcare Associate will prepare and serve snacks, plan activities, monitor playtime, including outside, for the students after school until they are picked up. The Childcare Associate assists in the child's social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cognitive development. Montessori School of Dayton is a 200-student day school serving students toddler through 8th grade. MSD is dedicated to its mission of inspiring a lifelong love of learning in each student through meaningful, dynamic, and innovative experiences. It is chartered by the State of Ohio and is located in Kettering, Ohio near Dayton.
Responsibilities of Job:
Ensure a safe and nurturing environment. Welcome parents and children at all times with a smile. Supervise students after school. Prepare afternoon snack. Set up for and monitor naptime. Plan and execute activities for students after school. Assist in site management including restoring the environment for the next day. Must be responsible, dependable, high energy, and creative. Attend training in early August and staff meetings as available. Experience working with children in a childcare setting and knowledge of Montessori philosophy is helpful.
