Job Description

The Goddard School in Independence is looking for a caring and dependable Toddler Teacher to work with children ages 2 to 2.5 years old. This is a busy, active age group. The right person for this position understands that toddlers need patience, consistency, supervision, and a warm teacher who can help them feel safe while they learn how to communicate, follow routines, and become more independent. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with young children, has experience in a licensed childcare setting, and understands that toddler classrooms require both energy and structure.
Responsibilities may include:
Caring for children ages 2 to 2.5 years old Helping children with daily routines, transitions, meals, rest time, and play Supporting early language, social skills, independence, and emotional development Planning and participating in age-appropriate classroom activities Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized classroom Supervising children closely at all times Communicating with families and school leadership Working as part of a classroom team Following licensing rules, school policies, and daily classroom procedures We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare center Is patient, dependable, and nurturing Can manage a busy classroom with calm and consistency Enjoys helping children learn routines and build confidence Communicates well with children, parents, and coworkers Is comfortable with diapering/toileting support and daily care needs Understands the importance of supervision and safety Works well as part of a team
Schedule:
This position may be full-time or part-time. Availability until closing is preferred.
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.50 per hour
