Job Description
Who We Are At Countryside YMCA, we believe in the power of community. As a leading nonprofit focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, we're looking for passionate educators who want to make a real difference in the lives of our youngest learners. About the Role Countryside YMCA is hiring part-time Early Childhood Educators for multiple classroom positions, including a Floater, Infant, and Toddler role. Whether you're supporting a dedicated classroom or floating between rooms, you'll help create a nurturing, safe, and developmentally rich environment that gives every child the best start. All positions operate under the guidelines of Step Up to Quality, ODJFS licensing rules, and the USDA Adult and Child Food Program (CACFP).
Available Positions:
Classroom Floating Educator- Part-Time | 6:30 AM
- 12:30 PM Infant Classroom Educator
- Part-Time | Hours vary Toddler Classroom Educator
- Part-Time | Hours vary What You'll Do Partner with Lead Teachers to deliver age-appropriate activities, routines, and learning experiences Provide attentive, hands-on care including feeding, dressing, hygiene, and supervised play Support children's emotional, social, and physical development with warmth and consistency Observe and document children's daily activities, meals, and any developmental concerns Communicate professionally with families and staff regarding children's progress and needs Implement positive, developmentally appropriate guidance strategies Maintain clean, sanitized, and safe classroom environments Complete Point of Service Meal Counts and annual CACFP training Report any concerns about child welfare to appropriate parties promptly What You Bring High School Diploma or equivalent required 1 year of experience working with young children preferred CPR & First Aid certification preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of hire Excellent communication skills with parents, teachers, and fellow childcare staff Patience and understanding when working with children and families Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices Ability to create a warm, enjoyable environment where children feel safe and supported Must pass a criminal background check Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods and bend frequently Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Exposure to common childhood illnesses is expected Our Commitment to Child Safety Countryside YMCA is dedicated to providing a safe environment for every child in our care.
