Daycare/Kennel/Boarding Assistant (Dog Attendant)

Job Summary PawPurs Place at Mile Creek Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable and compassionate Daycare/Kennel/Boarding Assistant to join our morning team . In this role, you will provide hands-on care to dogs in a safe, clean, and structured environment, ensuring every pet receives proper attention, exercise, and enrichment during their stay. Key Responsibilities Supervise and manage dog playgroups to ensure safe, positive interactions Monitor dog behavior and intervene when necessary Provide daily care including feeding, watering, and cleaning Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and facility spaces Follow all safety, sanitation, and animal care protocols Engage dogs in structured play and enrichment activities Communicate effectively with team members and pet owners Report health or behavioral concerns promptly Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment Qualifications Genuine love for animals, especially dogs Ability to handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments Strong attention to detail and understanding of animal behavior Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs Previous animal care experience preferred, but not required Passion for animal welfare Schedule & Availability Monday-Friday between 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM Flexible shifts: 8, 10, or 12 hours Rotating holidays required Occasional weekends and evening/walking shifts Benefits Flexible scheduling Employee discounts (veterinary care, boarding, daycare) Retirement plan Paid holidays and vacation Paid continuing education (CE) Why Join Us?
