Description:
My Place Child Care & School Age Center is looking for an Afternoon/Evening teacher looking to possibly grow into a hybrid teaching and office role. Hours for this position are approximately 12/1:00pm to 8/9:00 pm. Those who are unable or unwilling to work the expected hours should not apply for this position as the hours are not negotiable. This role is in person and Monday through Friday (Not remote). If you have a passion for working with children or want to make a difference in the early education in our community, please contact us. Main St., Newark, OH 43055. Our staff is expected to ensure a safe, caring environment for our children and families. They are expected to actively supervise activities, communicate regularly with children, parents and other staff members to meet the needs of all of the children in our care. Teachers plan/carry out creative, engaging experiences based on our curriculum and standards for our children in addition to helping children with meeting milestones. The ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate how they can prioritize the well-being of the children and operations of the building, help families and assist other teachers while balancing their tasks outside of the classroom. Teachers in this role will be expected to step in to classrooms as a teacher for various age groups, follow licensing rules, making/following up on referrals for children in our care, maintain records for various parts of the program, drive a bus for school pick up and field trips, assist in cleaning the building daily and will be responsible for closing the building as well as other duties that will come with the growth into a part time office role over time. Skills (preferred but not required) Child development Early learning and development standards Customer service Computer skills Time-management Requirements High School Diploma/GED Required, Preferred CDA, Associates, or bachelor's degree Clean background check CPR/First Aid (must be completed with in 90 days of being hired) Ability to work the hours 12/1pm-8/9pm Monday through Friday
