The Central YMCA in Painesville is now hiring for their Preschool Program.Available Shifts:
Monday- Friday, 7:30am
- 1:30pm Monday
- Friday, 8:30am
- 1:30pm Monday
- Friday, 11:30am
- 5:00pm
RATE:
$14.00 starting rate and a FREE Family YMCA membership Supervise the children, classroom, and all activities. Create a safe environment where all individuals feel welcomed and respected. Participate in planning and implementing program activities within the established YMCA guidelines. Nurture children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and belonging. Work with supervisors and peers to develop the whole child. Make ongoing observations and evaluations of each child. Report observations to supervisor. Build effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; help them connect with each other and the YMCA. Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Set up, organize, and put away needed class equipment. Familiar with proper usage of equipment. Report damaged equipment. Follow all YMCA and state policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Maintains all appropriate forms and documentation in accordance with these policies. Understand your role as a mandated reporter for elder and child abuse. Report and respond to situations in accordance with policies and procedures Demonstrate and uphold the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and growth mindset in all aspects of your work.QUALIFICATIONS
At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred. Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate program activities. Previous experience with diverse populations preferred. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds. No experience, we'll train you. Must be able to complete OHIO DJFS-and YMCA required trainings within the specified time frame.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Medium work. Exerting 50 pounds of force rarely, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. Frequently subject to environmental conditions- heat and humidity both inside and outside.
