The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. The Child Care Teacher will be responsible for developing age-appropriate lesson plans, fostering social and emotional development, and ensuring the well-being of each child in their care. CDA or higher preferred, but not required. Would be a plus if the candidate already was registered on OCCRRA and was CPL-3 or higher. Duties Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote childhood development and learning. Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Monitor and assess children's progress, adapting activities to meet individual needs. Manage classroom behavior effectively, using positive reinforcement strategies. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and any concerns. Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive learning environment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and play areas. Support children with special needs or disabilities, adapting activities as necessary. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills. Experience Proven experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting. Background in early childhood education or related field is preferred. CDA or higher preferred, but not required. (Would be a plus if the candidate already was registered on OCCRRA and was CPL-3 or higher.) Familiarity with childhood development principles and practices. Experience in behavior management techniques. Knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures is a plus. Prior experience with special education or working with individuals with disabilities is beneficial. Classroom management experience is essential, along with strong communication skills.
