Assistant Teacher/Floater Reports to:
Director General Function:
Assist with the supervision of children within assigned age group. Assist with activities that will enhance growth and development of all children.
Requirements:
Work with children of all ages. Position my require work outside the regularly scheduled program hours. Must attend all scheduled staff meetings and trainings. Must hold current CPR and First Aid certifications as well as obtain 20 clock hours of Professional Development per employment year. Be knowledgeable of current
NAEYC, 2 & 3
Star, ECERS, and ELG guidelines.
Duties:
- Assist with activities in accordance with curriculum objectives
- Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child
- Assist with preparing an inviting, creative and decorative learning environment
- Assist with serving meals
- Assist with daily attendance
- Assist with supervision of children; maintain proper staff/child ratios
- Assist with tracking children's progress through portfolios
- Assist with as well as participate in all activities
- Establish positive relationship and good communication with parents and coworkers
- Increase knowledge of Early Care Education; Continue professional development
- Maintain confidentiality
- Report any suspect abuse to supervisor or Master Teacher
- Learn program goals and philosophy
- Assist with maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Inspect damaged or lost materials; report them to master or director
- Attend in-service, staff meetings, trainings, etc.
- Meet all applicable licensing regulations
- Carry out additional duties in the absence of the Lead Teacher/Master Teacher
- Cover office, answer phones, type lesson plans, etc.
- Duties are not limited to the above.
Other duties will be added based on the needs of the center and/or at the request of the Master Teacher Director.
Pay:
$13.00 - $15.00 per hour
