Requirement:
Certification, by the Oklahoma State Department of Education, in Early Childhood Education.
Position Summary:
The classroom teacher will provide learning experiences according to the Oklahoma Academic Standards. The teacher must establish effective rapport with students, motivating them to develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for their education. Teachers will also be expected to establish good relationships with parents as well as other staff members.
Essential Duties:
Align learning experiences with the Oklahoma Academic Standards Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials appropriate for students with a wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturity levels. Utilize grading patterns that are fairly administered and based on identified criteria. Establish and maintain standards of conduct needed to provide a meaningful learning environment. Evaluate students' academic growth, analyze student data, and keep required records. Communicate with parents through a variety of means. Interact with students, staff, and parents in a positive and professional manner. Identify the needs of students and cooperate with other professional staff members in meeting those needs. Establish rapport with students and provide a pleasant, safe, and orderly environment conducive to learning. Supervise and monitor students, both in the classroom and areas outside the classroom, such as cafeteria, playground, media center field trips bus/pickup line, etc. Attend district and site professional development sessions. Support and attend school activities and programs. Follow all district and site policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
