We minister to preschool and school-age children and their families as part of Willamette Christian Center and we are seeking a passionate and dedicated staff member to join our team. Overview The ideal candidate will have a background in working with children and have a passion for sharing the gospel to the next generation. They will have a gift for creating a nurturing child-centered environment and will be energized by problem solving and learning about each child's development. As a Willamette Kids teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the daily experiences of children, guiding their spiritual and emotional development, and preparing them for future academic success. Responsibilities Implement engaging lesson plans that promote early childhood development, learning, and biblical habits. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity. Demonstrate your faith by using prayer and worship in the classroom. Educate students on various subjects, including basic literacy, Bible knowledge, basic numeracy, and social skills. Conduct yearly assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly. Collaborate with the director, other teachers, parents and caregivers to support children's development at school and home. Integrate physical education activities into playground time and classroom curriculum to teach self-regulation and to promote healthy habits. Participate in ongoing professional development and mandatory staff meetings. Required Education or Experience Experience working with children in an educational setting. One full year of experience at a registered or certified center and at least 30 days working with school-age children in the last 5 years. Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices. Familiarity with curriculum tailored to preschool and school-age children including biblical themes. Be a born-again Christian and an active member or regularly attendee of a local Christian Church. Strong communication skills and willingness to adapt. Ability to create a loving environment that meets the diverse needs of all students. Required Certifications Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety (ICCHS) Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (RRCAN) Oregon Food Handler's certification Current hands-on certification in first aid and pediatric CPR Foundations for Learning (CCLD approved Child Development Training) Current Central Background Registry number Join us in making a difference in the lives of children by providing them with the foundational skills they need for a life of learning and peace!
