04/05/2026 BRIEF SUMMARY This position conducts assessments (intelligence, achievement, functional, behavioral, social, emotional and curriculum-based assessment); interprets results for special education eligibility and individual educational needs; provides case management and coordination; provides crisis intervention to students when appropriate; provides input for group and individual counseling and social skills and training as indicated on IEPs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
ESA certification in school psychology. Master's Degree in Psychology or School Psychology preferred. Demonstrated desire and ability to collaborate through work and communication with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/CHARACTERISTICS
Knowledge of state and federal legislation for disabilities (WAC 392-171, IDEA 2004, Section 504, etc.) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with staff, students and families. Evidence of leadership skills, positive human relationship skills and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to administer standardized tests. Ability to lead collaboration and integration strategies. Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel between buildings. Ability to function as an effective member of the Multi-disciplinary Team. Possess working knowledge of Washington State Rules and Regulations for disabled students. Experience working with youth involved with the justice system. Experience leading teams in manifestation determinations, functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans. Ability to identify individual student needs and develop effective recommendations for the multi-disciplinary team. Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel between buildings.
