Full-time Job Overview:
As a Preschool Teacher at Sweet Pea Learning Center, you will be responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and educational environment for children aged 4-5 years. You will implement a curriculum that's provided for you that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, while also ensuring that each child's individual needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of preschoolers. Curriculum is provided.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a positive and organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning while managing behaviors in a constructive manner.
Instruction:
Lead engaging and educational activities, including arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and physical activities that are aligned with curriculum goals.
Communication:
Maintain open, effective communication with parents, guardians and management regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns. Conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed.
Health and Safety:
Ensure a safe and clean classroom environment, adhere to health and safety regulations, and attend to children's physical needs, including diapering and feeding if necessary.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment and participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to lead a classroom with up to 10 children Be at least 21 years of age Supervise the activities of an aide assigned to his/her group
AND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING
Completion of 20 credits (semester system) or 30 credits (quarter system) of training at a college or university in early childhood education OR A one year state or nationally recognized credential in early childhood education OR At least 750 hours of qualifying teaching experience OR Completion of 10 credits (semester system) or 15 credits (quarter system) of training at a college or university in education AND At least six months of qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Child Care Center or comparable group care program
PREFERRED QUALITIES
Completed OCC approved health and safety training Excellent written and verbal communication skills with parents, staff, and Directors Ability to implement company policies and procedures with staff and parents Has a firm grasp of each and every child's developmental level, abilities, allergies, and overall daily routine Able to organize information, lists, and organize classroom areas/supplies Able to manage and execute the flow of our day Minimum of 1 year commitment to position Applicants must be available to work an 8 hour shift during the following hours: Monday- Friday 7:30am-4:00pm What SPLC can offer you:
