Job Description

The Business Manager is responsible for the overall administrative and operational management of the Center, ensuring high-quality early childhood and preschool services through effective staff leadership, regulatory compliance, and efficient business operations. This role oversees day-to-day management functions, supports a positive workplace culture, and ensures the center operates in accordance with all state licensing requirements and organizational policies. Fast-paced childcare environment requiring regular interaction with staff, children, and families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversee daily administrative operations of the daycare center Manage enrollment processes, parent communication, and customer service concerns Collaborate to hire, onboard, train, and supervise daycare staff Develop staff schedules and manage daily staffing coverage to maintain required child-to-staff ratios Collaborate to conduct employee performance evaluations Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment Lead team meetings and support ongoing professional development and training initiatives Ensure staff adherence to company policies, safety standards, and childcare best practices Maintain compliance with all state and local childcare licensing regulations Ensure all required employee certifications, clearances, and training records remain current Prepare for and coordinate licensing inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews Maintain accurate records related to children, staff, incidents, attendance, and safety procedures Monitor and implement health, safety, sanitation, and emergency preparedness standards Stay informed of changes in childcare laws, regulations, and industry standards
Qualifications/ Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, Management, or related field Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience, preferably in childcare, education, healthcare, or a regulated environment Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and compliance requirements Proficiency with Microsoft Office and childcare management software
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for long periods throughout the workday with intermittent periods of sitting, walking, and occasional bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and grasping as necessary to carry out essential job duties. Dexterity requirements range from coordinated movements of fingers and hands to simple movements of feet, legs, and torso as necessary to carry out essential job duties.
