Lead Teacher - Infant Room Multicultural Community Resource Center - 3.6 Erie, PA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $12.00 - $22.50 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Classroom management High school diploma or GED Team management Infant care Associate's degree Early Childhood Education Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description Do you have a true love for children, especially infants? MCRC (a local non-profit organization) is looking for a Lead Teacher for our infant room. This position is responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for infants, overseeing their daily care, implementing age-appropriate activities to stimulate development, maintaining communication with parents, and leading a team of assistant teachers within the infant classroom, all while adhering to childcare regulations and best practices.
Key responsibilities may include:
Child Development and Care:
Observing and documenting each infant's individual developmental progress. Planning and implementing age-appropriate activities to promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. Providing nurturing care including feeding, changing diapers, soothing techniques, and comforting. Ensuring the safety and well-being of all infants in the classroom. Maintaining a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment. Creating a positive and supportive learning atmosphere for infants. Following established routines and schedules for feeding, sleeping, and playtime. Supervising and interacting with infants throughout the day. Maintaining open communication with parents through regular updates, conferences, and daily logs. Collaborating with other staff members, including assistant teachers, to ensure consistent care for infants. Addressing any concerns or issues regarding infant development with parents and center management. Staying informed about current research and best practices in infant development and care. Participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Maintaining required certifications and licensing for infant care.
Qualifications:
At least 18 years of age
Education:
Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Prior experience working with infants in a childcare setting, preferably as a lead teacher.
Skills:
Excellent observation skills, ability to develop and implement age-appropriate activities, strong communication skills, patience, and a positive attitude towards working with infants. Ability to pass a physical
