Job Description

Before & After School Teachers - No Nights, No Weekends! Join our team and make a difference in children's lives! At Lancaster Rec, we are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children. We are seeking a passionate and qualified School Age Care Assistant Group Supervisor to support our after-school programs and help children grow and thrive. Position Highlights Pay:
$16-$19/hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
Part-time, 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday (about 5.25-hour shifts, before/after school hours)

Various school locations What You'll Do As an Assistant Group Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in fostering the social, emotional, and educational growth of children in grades K-5. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Uphold all Lancaster Rec/DHS/Keystone STARS guidelines for quality childcare. Actively engage in childcare activities, providing passion, patience, and care. Ensure adherence to the small group ratio established by DHS, accurately maintaining attendance records . Foster an environment that builds self-esteem, using positive reinforcement techniques for behavior management. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and experiences. Collaborate with staff to create a positive, team-focused atmosphere. Develop and maintain strong relationships with school personnel, including principals, secretaries, custodians, and teachers. Implement the daily activity schedule to meet the goals of the program. Maintain both site and outdoor areas according to planned activities. Complete required paperwork and training on time. Attend monthly staff meetings. Required Skills & Qualifications Education:
Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum of 2500 hours of experience in childcare or child development roles.
Clearances:
Must be able to obtain and maintain all DHS clearances.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs safely (to assist with children, classroom equipment, or supplies). Must be able to supervise groups of children both indoors and outdoors, which may include extended periods of standing, walking, bending, or stooping.
Additional Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; knowledge of DHS regulations and Keystone STARS standards is a plus.
