Job Description

Lead Head Start Teacher (Preschool) Lancaster Rec | $20-$24 per hour Lancaster Rec is hiring a Lead Head Start Teacher to lead a preschool classroom serving young children and families in a structured, high-quality early childhood education program. Key Responsibilities:
Lead a Head Start preschool classroom in compliance with DPW and Keystone STARS regulations Supervise and support Assistant Teachers and Aides Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and weekly themes Complete Ages & Stages Questionnaires within 45 days of enrollment Monitor and document children's academic, social, and physical development Maintain child-to-staff ratios and ensure classroom safety Communicate daily with parents and conduct bi-annual parent conferences Complete required documentation, newsletters, and classroom reporting
Qualifications:
Minimum of Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or related field Minimum of 2 years' experience in a preschool, Pre-K, or Head Start setting Strong classroom management and leadership skills Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and actively engage with children Ability to work in a fast-paced early learning environment
