Position Summary The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports each child's growth and development. This role ensures compliance with state regulations and Celebree standards while leading classroom operations and supporting teaching staff. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (B.A. in ECE) required Meets Pennsylvania state requirements for Lead Teacher Minimum 2 years of childcare experience required Experience with Teaching Strategies preferred Knowledge or experience with Conscious Discipline preferred Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills Patient, flexible, and team-oriented Key Responsibilities Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant classroom at all times Maintain active supervision ( see, hear, reach ) and proper ratios Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans Support children's social-emotional development using positive guidance Manage daily classroom routines and smooth transitions Complete all required documentation accurately and on time Team & Family Engagement Provide guidance and support to classroom aides Communicate daily with families in a professional and positive manner Effectively handle parent feedback and concerns Be willing to support each child's individual needs and development Professional Expectations Maintain required certifications (CPR, First Aid, training hours) Attend trainings, meetings, and school events Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and reliability Follow all school policies, including no personal device use in classrooms Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Frequent movement: bending, lifting, sitting on floor, engaging with children
Compensation & Schedule Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours/week Work Location Middletown, PA (In person) A 90-day probationary period is required. Employees who meet a competency rating of 8 or above within this period will be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $450.
