Create weekly lesson plans that Implement the school`s curriculum. The creative curriculum is currently used at The Discovery Preschools. Communicate daily with children, parents, and staff in a positive, professional manner. Communicate appropriately with parents daily Ability to create, enhance, and maintain the preschool's policies and program. Show knowledge of and be able to use all assessment tools. This includes daily timeline posts and weekly newsletters. Maintain developmental profiles for children. Carry out parent-teacher conferences twice per academic year Develop, plan, and prepare instructional aids/materials for classroom activities. Assist children with meal times, bathroom needs, and clean-up when needed. Maintain appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom and equipment. Arrange the classroom into well-defined, organized, areas of interest. Attend and participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, and other meetings upon request. Direct the other staff in the classroom to ensure the class is functioning in an orderly manner. Prepare substitute materials in case of absence. Physical Requirements May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk frequently during the day. May stand four (4) to eight (8) hours per day. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion or more depending on the child's weight. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds
