K PRESCHOOL TEACHER
— Little Leaders Learning Academy 7am-2pm The PHLpreK Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a high‑quality, developmentally appropriate classroom environment for children ages 3-5 in alignment with PHLpreK program standards, Keystone STARS requirements, and early childhood best practices. This role ensures that every child receives a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning experience that supports school readiness, social‑emotional development, and family partnership. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESInstruction & Curriculum Implement a research‑based curriculum (Creative Curriculum, HighScope, or equivalent) aligned with PHLpreK standards. Develop weekly lesson plans that support cognitive, social‑emotional, physical, and language development. Use Teaching Strategies GOLD or approved assessment tools to document child progress. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including children with IEPs or developmental concerns. Classroom Environment Maintain a warm, inclusive, culturally responsive classroom climate. Ensure the environment is clean, organized, and aligned with Keystone STARS and PHLpreK health & safety standards. Establish predictable routines that promote independence and positive behavior. Child Supervision & Safety Maintain active supervision at all times following OCDEL and PHLpreK guidelines. Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, including ratios, documentation, and incident reporting. Promote safe practices during meals, rest time, transitions, and outdoor play. Family Engagement Build strong, respectful relationships with families through daily communication. Conduct parent‑teacher conferences and share developmental progress using assessment data. Support family involvement activities and PHLpreK engagement requirements. Professional Responsibilities Complete all required PHLpreK, OCDEL, and Keystone STARS trainings (including Mandated Reporter, Pediatric First Aid/CPR, Health & Safety). Participate in coaching sessions, Teacher observations, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate attendance, documentation, and compliance records.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Credentials Required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field Preferred PQAS or additional ECE certifications Experience At least 2 years experience working with preschool‑aged children in a licensed early childhood program. Experience with Creative Curriculum, TS GOLD, or similar tools is a plus. Skills & Competencies Strong classroom management and organizational skills Warm, patient, and responsive demeanor Ability to build rapport with children and families Excellent written and verbal communication Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment Why Join Our Team?
