Job Description

We are currently hiring Lead Teachers across multiple age groups , including Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Pre-K classrooms. Each role offers the opportunity to take ownership of your classroom while being supported by a collaborative and professional team. Position Summary As a Lead Teacher, you will create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that support the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. You will guide classroom experiences that encourage exploration, independence, and early academic readiness while building strong relationships with children and families. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role within the classroom, shaping daily experiences and helping establish a positive, consistent learning environment that children look forward to each day. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum aligned with developmental milestones and The Goddard School's educational philosophy Lead daily classroom activities that support early literacy, math readiness, social-emotional development, and motor skills Create a warm, structured, and engaging classroom environment that supports all learners Build strong, professional relationships with families through consistent communication and updates Observe, document, and track each child's development and progress Collaborate with assistant teachers to ensure smooth classroom operations and consistency in care and instruction Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment in compliance with licensing and school standards Support positive behavior development using age-appropriate guidance and redirection strategies Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities Qualifications Previous experience in early childhood education (Infant, Toddler, Preschool, or Pre-K preferred) Strong understanding of child development and early learning best practices Ability to create engaging lesson plans and adapt to individual classroom needs Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset Classroom leadership experience or readiness to step into a lead role Passion for early learning and creating meaningful classroom experiences CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred (or willingness to obtain) What We Offer A supportive and professional school environment focused on quality early education Opportunities for growth and leadership development within the school Ongoing training and curriculum support A collaborative team that values creativity, consistency, and respect The opportunity to truly make a lasting impact during a critical stage of development Join Our Team At The Goddard School of Plymouth Meeting, you'll find more than a teaching job—you'll find a place where your ideas matter, your classroom is supported, and your work helps shape confident, curious learners every day.
Pay:
$18.50 - $22.00 per hour
