Preschool Director Position Summary The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons, guiding children's social and emotional development, and maintaining open communication with families. The Lead Teacher will model positive behavior, foster a love of learning, and support each child's growth in a faith-based preschool setting. Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Instruction & Curriculum
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities for preschool-aged children.
  • Create a structured daily schedule that includes circle time, small group instruction, creative play, and gross motor activities.
  • Foster early literacy, math, social-emotional, and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning experiences.
  • Encourage curiosity, creativity, and independence in young learners. Classroom Environment
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
  • Set clear expectations and use positive guidance techniques to manage behavior.
  • Prepare and maintain classroom materials and learning centers.
  • Ensure classroom practices follow health and safety guidelines. Child Development & Assessment
  • Observe and document children's developmental progress.
  • Support children's individual learning needs and developmental milestones.
  • Communicate concerns or developmental observations to the director when necessary. Family Communication
  • Build positive relationships with families and maintain open communication.
  • Share updates with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
  • Participate in school events. Leadership & Collaboration
  • Supervise and guide assistant teachers or classroom aides.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to maintain a positive school environment.
  • Support the mission and values of the preschool and participate in school programs. Qualifications
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children (3-5 years old).
  • Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Clear background checks as required by state regulations. Skills & Attributes
