We are currently seeking a Lead Teacher for our co-ed Little School program, working with students under the age of two. In conjunction with the Assistant Teacher, the Lead Teacher will:
- Create a joyful and respectful classroom environment that celebrates the uniqueness, perspective, and cultural background of each individual and that is actively anti-racist
- Foster a classroom culture of challenge, active learning, engagement, independence, and perseverance
- Contribute to the maintenance of a clean, safe, inviting, and organized learning environment for the students
- Plan unit/lessons in collaboration with the Pre-K team
- Plan, prepare, and develop teaching aids with support from the teaching team
- Build strong relationships with parents and respond to parents' comments and concerns with sensitivity, interest and respect while maintaining confidentiality
- Have weekly duties including attending specials, recess, lunch, Extended Morning, and Extended Afternoon
- Collect observations and write progress reports for each student
- Be an active member of the Lower School and Early Childhood community by attending and participating in faculty meetings and school events
Qualifications:
An understanding of and appreciation for the developmental range of the age group A nurturing, compassionate, and respectful approach with children Strong oral and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills Strong work ethic and a kind spirit Continuing interest in professional growth Education and/orExperience:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree with coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred, but not requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not supervise any other employees at Lincoln School.Physical Requirements:
