A team of two co-teachers leads the nursery classroom; instructional groups are flexible and dynamic. A desire to work in a team-based, collaborative classroom is essential. Full-time teachers attend faculty meetings after school on Mondays and may be assigned other all-school duties. Candidates should have experience:

Assessing student work through various modalities, one-on-one work, and small and large group observations; Teaching early math concepts, such as one-to-one correspondence, conservation of numbers, and number recognition; Understanding of multi-sensory phonics program (e.g. Lively Letters, Wilsons Fundations, Heggerty).Teaching phonological and phonemic awareness;Understanding of age-appropriate developmental milestones for young children in a variety of areas, including motor, speech and language, math, and social-emotional development.

Utilizes play-based approaches to student learning. Applicants must hold a bachelors degree from an accredited four-year institution; a degree in education or early childhood education is strongly preferred. Two to five years of teaching experience is preferred, though not required. A masters degree, early childhood certification, or a teaching credential is also desirable.
