Job Description Are you looking for a fun and rewarding career in Early Childhood Education? The Academy for Little Children is seeking dedicated, reliable, and motivated individuals with a passion for working with young children. This is a full-time position. Who We Are The purpose of The Academy for Little Children is to provide high-quality, responsive care and a nurturing learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 10 years old. We offer an educational program based on developmentally appropriate practices that help children build a strong foundation and develop a positive attitude toward learning. We focus on children's cognitive, social-emotional, and physical growth to promote an integrated and effective approach to learning. We maintain a warm and caring environment where children feel safe, secure, supported, and encouraged to thrive. What You Will Do The Academy is seeking a creative, positive, and motivated individual to join our State Pre-K classroom at our West Warwick location. In this role, you will: Support the academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth of preschool children Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment Build positive relationships with families and provide ongoing communication regarding children's progress Collaborate with teaching staff and administration to support student success Participate in required trainings and professional development opportunities This is a full-time, grant-funded position offering competitive pay and valuable professional development opportunities. What You Will Bring Education Requirements Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications: Hold a current and appropriate Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Early Childhood teaching certificate OR Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Human Development, or Child Development from an accredited institution of higher education and obtain the appropriate RIDE Early Childhood certification within seven (7) years of employment Additional Requirements CPR/First Aid Certification Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS) certificate relevant to this position, or willingness to complete an approved professional development plan within two (2) years of employment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Physical Requirements Ability to actively engage in physical activities with children, including walking, running, crawling, bending, and twisting Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to safely supervise children Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Pay:
$28.00 - $30.00 per hour
