Lead Teacher New Academy Columbia, SC Job Details Full-time $18 - $20 an hour 14 hours ago Qualifications School experience Teamwork American Sign Language Teaching Spanish Organizational skills Classroom experience Teaching Full Job Description New Academy is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and academically focused Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This is not a daycare position. We are building a structured learning environment focused on kindergarten readiness, leadership development, character education, and whole-child growth for children ages 3-5. We are looking for an educator who understands the importance of creating a safe, engaging, and academically rich classroom while helping children grow socially, emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually. Ideal Candidate Qualities Fluent in both English and Spanish or Fluent in ASL sign language Strong classroom leadership and management skills Passion for teaching and early childhood education Ability to create engaging lesson plans and hands-on learning experiences Warm, patient, and nurturing personality Professional communication skills with parents and staff Organized, dependable, and team-oriented Ability to maintain a structured academic classroom environment Experience teaching preschool or early elementary-aged children Strong understanding of child development ages 3-5 Creative, energetic, and able to keep children actively engaged Values character development, leadership, and positive guidanceResponsibilities Lead a structured classroom for children ages 3-5 Implement daily academic lessons and enrichment activities Foster language development, early literacy, math, and social skills Maintain classroom routines, organization, and positive behavior support Build strong relationships with students and families Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with parents Collaborate with school leadership and teaching staff Create a loving, safe, and educational learning environment Preferred Qualifications CDA, Early Childhood Degree, or related education experience Previous preschool or private school teaching experience CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience in bilingual education is a plus If you are passionate about educating young children and helping build a strong educational foundation, we would love to hear from you.
