Job Overview Join us as a Summer Camp Assistant and become a vital part of creating an engaging, safe, and nurturing environment for children during their summer adventures. In this role, you will support camp activities, supervise children, and ensure a positive experience for all participants. Your enthusiasm, organization, and dedication will help foster a fun and educational atmosphere that promotes growth, friendship, and lifelong memories. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with children of diverse backgrounds while developing your skills in childcare, education, and leadership. Responsibilities Supervise and engage children in a variety of camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and outdoor games. Assist with the implementation of daily schedules and ensure activities run smoothly and safely. Maintain a safe environment by monitoring children's behavior and applying effective behavior management techniques. Foster positive relationships with campers by encouraging teamwork, respect, and good communication. Collaborate with fellow staff members to plan age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development and early childhood education principles. Skills Strong classroom management skills to guide children's behavior constructively. Experience in childcare, daycare settings, or working with children in educational or recreational environments. Ability to teach or tutor children in various subjects or skills as needed during camp activities. Excellent communication skills for working effectively with children, parents, and team members. Familiarity with behavior management strategies and childhood development concepts. Enthusiasm for sports coaching, or other extracurricular activities that enhance camp programming. $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
