Job Description

JOB TITLE

Director TYPE:
Full-Time The Head Start Teacher at I Rise Christian Academy is responsible for providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children aged three to five. The teacher will foster each student's social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development through a developmentally appropriate curriculum that encourages creativity, exploration, and a love for learning. The ideal candidate should be familiar with assessment tools such as Brigance screens, LAP-BK assessment, and the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS).
Key Responsibilities :
  • Curriculum Implementation:
    Enhance our comprehensive, developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with the academy's educational goals and standards.
  • Classroom Management:
    Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters respect, cooperation, and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    Regularly assess and document students' progress using tools such as Brigance screens, LAP-BK assessment, and CLASS, providing feedback to parents and the Academic Coordinator about students' development.
  • Individualized Instruction:
    Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet each child's needs and interests, ensuring all students are challenged and supported.
  • Communication:
    Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Collaboration:
    Work with other educators and staff to create a cohesive learning environment and participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Classroom Environment:
    Organize and maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
  • Behavior Management:
    Implement positive behavior management strategies to promote self-discipline and respect among students.
Community Engagement:
Encourage family involvement in the classroom and school activities to foster a strong school community.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Familiarity with assessment tools such as Brigance screens, LAP-BK assessment, and CLASS.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a warm, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Commitment to fostering a love of learning in young children.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to engage in physical activities with children, including playing and moving around the classroom and outdoors.
